Abdominal aortic aneurysm symptoms

Before getting started with abdominal aortic aneurysm symptoms, we must know about the meaning of symptoms. You have listen to words “sign & symptom” in the terminology of medical sciences. These two words help a physician to conclude about the illness of a patient. The first word” sign” is known as the abnormalities found by the examiner or physician or even a first-aider while examining a patient. For example while examining a patient you found bleeding from some area of the body or some kind of swelling at any part of the body, these are called signs. The second word “symptom” is the information or complaints which a patient tells you about his / her illness. For example a patient complains about headache or feeling of discomfort-ness, these are known as the symptoms. Now coming to out actual topic we will try to know that what can be the possible symptoms of abdominal aortic aneurysm. Abdominal aortic aneurysm is enlargement of the blood vessels present in the abdominal area. Abdominal aortic arteries are those which supply blood to the body parts located in abdominal area and also to the lower extremities.  The possible enlargement of the aorta occurs in the abdominal area or in iliac area. Usually there is no such symptom which could be noted at early stages and a person with aneurysm remains unaware of the disease at this stage. But if the enlargement of the artery may develop up to 50% or more, the symptoms appear.


            The abdominal aortic aneurysm symptoms develop gradually from moderate to severe. Usually increase in blood pressure and irregularity in urine output may be noted. In abdominal area the aneurysm develops around renal area where an artery has sufficient space to expand. Some time pain is misunderstood and considered as renal colic and creates confusion in treatment. So the proper measures for the diagnosis are necessary for the confirmation. The rate of development of abdominal aortic aneurysm is high above the age of 60 years or more, so if the patient of this age complains for pain abdomen then it must be kept in consideration too. Other symptoms of aneurysm include increase cholesterol level and emphysema. Then vomiting / nausea are noted in some cases. Patient complains for severe pain abdomen and stiff of the abdominal muscles can be felt.  If we take a look on the causes of its development, we will know that individual with smoking history are more susceptible of this disease. Abdominal aortic aneurysm develops in male and exact treatment is surgery to prevent from further complications.
